Product Description

Guardian Direct Vision DVS K3 2024 Full Radar Progressive Safe System – GDVSFK

This system is for vehicles that do not have any DVS kit already fitted (ie. no side camera or left turn alarm).

From 28th October 2024, all 0-2 DVS star rated HGVs over 12T travelling through Great London will need to install a Progressive Safe System (PSS) before applying for a DVS Safety Permit.

Our DVS Progressive Safe System fully complies with the DVS Phase 2 requirement set out by the Transport for London (TfL).

Did You Know?

There were over 211,000 vehicles between 0- and 2-star that have had Safety Permits issued for DVS Phase 1. Most of the vehicles will need to have a Progressive Safe System (PSS) fitted to comply with DVS Phase 2, and get their Safety Permit.

Kit Includes

  • Blind Spot Information System (BSIS) – completely eliminates the nearside blind spot, detects Vulnerable Road Users (VRUs), and not stationary objects, and meets the UNECE R151 standard
  • Moving Off Information System (MOIS) – to detect pedestrians and cyclists at the front of the vehicle, and alerts the driver when the vehicle is about to move off and that meets the UNECE R159 standard
  • HD Side Mounted Camera
  • HD 7″ Quad Monitor – 4 camera inputs, single, split or quad view options.
  • Blind Spot Safety Sign – A3 size.
  • 2 Year Warranty

Key DVS Phase 2 Dates

These are the key dates of the Direct Vision Standard Phase 2 from Transport for London (TfL).

  • 24th June 2024 – Applications for new Safety Permit now open
  • 28th October 2024 – New Safety Permit & Progressive Safe System required on 0 to 2 star HGVs
  • 28th January 2025 – 3 month grace period comes to an end

To Note;
If you are applying NOW for a New vehicle or New Safety Permit for your 0- to 2-star vehicle, then you will essentially be applying for DVS Phase 1, and so you will still need to reapply for a New Safety Permit for DVS Phase 2 from June 2024.

Similar to Phase 1, TfL are allowing for a 3-month grace period. What this means is, if you have registered your vehicle by the 28th October 2024 and you can demonstrate that you have a Progressive Safe System installation booked, then you will have until January 2025 to complete your Safety Permit application.
