Product Description

Brigade FORS Gold MDR DVS 2024 AHD Camera Monitor Recording System For Rigid Vehicles – FORSGOLDDVS2024

This Brigade FORS Gold (MDR) DVS 2024 AHD Mobile Digital Recording camera monitor system (4G Ready) is suitable for rigid vehicles only, up to 8 wheel specification. This kit ensures your vehicle meets the minimum requirements for the FORS Gold level. This complete Progressive Safe System includes BSIS and MOIS radars.

This system includes a 1TB MDR that captures footage from vehicle-mounted cameras. It provides an accurate witness and gives irrefutable evidence in the case of an incident. Having recorded footage where there are conflicting reports of actual events or by being able to prove a staged accident, companies can make major cost savings whilst importantly support their drivers, who are often the subject of increased scrutiny after an incident.

The aim of FORS is simple. One over-arching scheme that encompasses all aspects of safety, fuel efficiency, economical operations and vehicle emissions. FORS is a voluntary scheme that helps improve operators’ performance in each of these areas.

For vehicle operators, it offers peace of mind that they are meeting their legislative requirements, as well as helping to increase efficiency, reduce costs and win work.

FORS Compliance

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) and The Construction and Logistics Cyclist Safety Scheme (CLOCS) are nationwide vehicle safety specifications. FORS is generally aimed at the freight sector but does also apply to vans and other vehicles. CLOCS is more targeted at the construction sector but again covers many vehicle types.

At FORS bronze level there are no requirements to fit product but there is a time limit set at which operators should progress to FORS silver level.

CLOCS and FORS are aligned at FORS silver level, where safety equipment becomes mandatory, so the requirements are the same whichever specification you are looking at. However FORS Gold has additional requirements.

Up until a few years ago, there were ten different vehicle specifications with varying requirements and confusion in the industry was apparent. Today CLOCS and FORS are the main specifications for road going vehicles although there are a few exceptions including the Skanska vehicle safety specification and the High Speed Two (HS2) vehicle standards. Despite this, it can be a minefield for operators to work out exactly what is required.

Fortunately at PB Auto Electrics, we can offer expert advice and FORS approved equipment to help you to become compliant with all specifications.

How Does It Work?

The unit is positioned on the nearside of the truck and gives complete coverage to the side of the vehicle, including the trailer unit coverage. The driver is alerted if a cyclist enters the detection zone and receives a second warning if a collision is predicted.

Radar Predict issues warnings in three distinct levels:

  • Level 1 Warning:
  • This activates when the steering wheel angle is under 30 degrees, and a cyclist or pedestrian enters the warning zone. In this instance, a section of yellow warning LEDs illuminates.

  • Level 2 Warning:
  • When the vehicle turns left with a steering wheel angle exceeding 30 degrees, and a collision with a cyclist or pedestrian is anticipated within a specific timeframe, Radar Predict triggers a Level 2 warning. Yellow warning LEDs begin to flash in this situation.

  • Level 3 Warning:
  • If the vehicle turns left, the steering wheel angle surpasses 30 degrees or the turn indicator is activated, and a collision becomes imminent, Radar Predict initiates a Level 3 warning. This includes flashing yellow warning LEDs and an audible alert. The corresponding section of yellow warning light LEDs assists the driver in identifying the cyclist’s position.

How Does It Work?

The unit is positioned on the front of the truck and gives complete coverage to the front of the vehicle. The driver is alerted if a cyclist enters the detection zone and receives a second warning if a collision is predicted.

Ideal to meet the 2024 DVS requirements, Brigade’s DVS Front Radar is an advanced dual-radar collision prediction system with a 180° detection angle in front of the vehicle, that alerts drivers through visual and audible signals if a vulnerable road user is detected in close proximity to the front of the vehicle.

  • DVS Compliant – Ideal solution for MOIS requirement of the DVS 2 legislation
  • Blind Spot Monitoring – Enhanced dual radar technology to detect pedestrians and cyclists in blind spots in front of the vehicle.
  • Visual and Audible Alerts – System to alert drivers through visual and audible signals if a vulnerable road user is detected in close proximity to the vehicle when stationary as well as moving off.
  • Plug and Play – Front Radar only requires power from the vehicle
